GrandVJ - "Bundling" GrandVJ files with media?

Postby BleedingEdgeProductions » Tue Jan 27, 2009 2:34 pm

Hi guys,

Is there a way of bundling media files together with the GrandVJ file to easily be transported to other computers?

I will be creating a show on one computer, but then the show needs to be played back on another system, and there is no guarantee that the files will be in the same relative locations.

Thanks,

Martin

Hello,

You have to copy manually all the contents you have.

The better solution is to put all in a folder : the .vj in the top of it, and put your visuals in folders beside your .vj file.
Then copy all that "bundle" togheter.∑

Thanks Xavier.

So GVJ uses relative links to the Media? i.e. if I developed on C:\My Folder\My Project and had the Grand VJ file in there and the media in a subfolder of that, it would work if the folder structure and files were transferred to D:\Another Folder\Another Project?

Thanks!

I have to check it out, but I guess the path are relative. I will confirm it tomorrow (don't have GVJ here).

Hello,

If you put your visuals in subfolders of the .vj file, all will be OK.

When you will load the .vj file on the other machine, if GrandVJ doesn't find a visual, it will ask you to locate it (or ignore it).
